National Taxi, a franchise of the Dubai Taxi Agency under the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), officially began operations on 12 August 2000 with a fleet of 50 taxis. Over the years, the fleet expanded to 1,425 vehicles, with an additional 310 taxis awarded in August 2017, bringing the total fleet to 1,735 cars. As part of its commitment to sustainability, National Taxi has been incorporating hybrid vehicles into its fleet, aiming to reach 50% hybrid taxis by 2020.

National Taxi in Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi branch of National Taxi was launched on 4 November 2007 with 50 taxis under the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of Abu Dhabi, formerly known as TransAD. The fleet has grown to 1,594 vehicles, although, following a new contract in 2018, the current operational fleet is 800 taxis. National Taxi serves both the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain regions, ensuring reliable transportation in compliance with ITC regulations.

Today, I booked a taxi through the Careem app and had one of the best driving experiences in my eight years in the UAE. The driver was early and waited patiently without stressing me out, unlike some drivers who call excessively. He was polite and considerate of my medical conditions during the ride to the hospital, and it was nice to chat with him. It's common for people to only write reviews for negative experiences, but it's important to acknowledge the positive ones as well.
I would give a 0-star rating to your taxi driver. He was very rude while I was traveling with my family. I paid the fare, but there was an error with the machine, and my card was charged twice. Despite showing him the deductions and my account statement, he was dismissive, telling me not to irritate him and insisting I pay. He kept the meter running, resulting in an extra charge of 5 AED. Please train your drivers on how to behave with customers. For your reference, the driver's name is Mustaffa Mousa Ali Mousa.
