Dubai Taxi Company PJSC stands as a leader in mobility solutions in Dubai, holding the title of the largest taxi operator in the emirate with an estimated market share of 44% as of June 30, 2023, according to industry experts.

Originally founded in 1994 as a taxi service, with operations beginning in 1995 with just 221 cars, DTC has since grown into a comprehensive transportation provider. Leveraging its dominance in the taxi sector, DTC has expanded into various mobility services, offering a broad range of solutions across four key business lines: taxi services with a large eco-friendly fleet, VIP limousine services with chauffeur-driven luxury vehicles, bus services, and last-mile delivery via bikes. Between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023, DTC completed 44 million trips, 42 million of which were taxi rides. As of June 30, 2023, the company operated a fleet of over 7,000 vehicles, including 5,216 taxis, and employed more than 14,000 drivers.

In 2023, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, enacted Law No. (21) of 2023, officially transforming Dubai Taxi Corporation into a public joint-stock company under the name ‘Dubai Taxi Company (PJSC).’ This new status grants DTC financial and administrative independence, allowing it to further its mission and expand its operations. The law also stipulates the replacement of the term ‘Dubai Taxi Corporation’ with ‘Dubai Taxi Company (PJSC)’ in all existing legal references within the emirate’s laws.
